The Red Haven Motel was built in 1949, the same year as the present owner Richard Thatcher
was born! Both are undergoing renovations. The Red Haven Motel is a small independent " Mom
and Pop " Motel. Our Motel offers a great value for your dollar. We provide free wireless Internet
service and if you didn't bring your laptop, you may come in and use the computer in the office.
As a 34 year resident of Truth or Consequences, Richard has a wealth of information about the
surrounding area.
At the Red Haven you will be transported back in time or maybe experience the "Olden Days"
for the first time when you receive a real key for the door to your room. You will sense a touch of
nostalgia in all our rooms here at the Red Haven! We will welcome your pet and make you feel
like you are at home with us. Come and enjoy a step back into time, when buildings were made
with real brick and when you were a person with a name not just a room number.
Some of our guests have been coming to the Red Haven for forty years and more! Come stay
with us and visit on the veranda and make new friends, or explore the old time main street of
down town of Truth or Consequences. T or C has 12 art galleries and boasts of a monthly
Gallery Hop the second Saturday of every month.
Hot Mineral Spring Baths have been bringing people to the Truth or Consequences area for
many years. The baths are open year around and many claim the minerals have a healing
quality to them.
Elephant Butte Lake and State Park is only 5 short miles away and is New Mexico's largest
water recreation area. People come from all over to fish, boat, water ski, jet ski and just enjoy the
great hiking the area has to offer. The elevation and mild climate is an additional draw to the
area.
So come check us out and see what you have been missing here in New Mexico's and possibly
one of the United State's last "re-discovered" spots!
